After October 14, 2025, Microsoft will no longer provide free software updates from Windows Update, technical assistance, or security fixes for Windows 10.
Microsoft’s End of Support announcements often have little impact on the average user, but this one is different. While the Windows 11 has been available since 2021, approximately 60% of PC users are still running Windows 10.
There’s a good chance that this includes you and your business. Without patches, updates, and the latest anti-virus protection, your system will soon be vulnerable.

What to do?
If your system meets the hardware requirements for Windows 10, you can upgrade to Windows 11 for free at any time between now and October 14th. Microsoft makes it easy to do by using the tools found at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/get-windows-11
However, many current PCs will not meet Microsoft’s new hardware requirements. While your Windows 10 PC will not stop functioning, it will be vulnerable after the October deadline has passed. Now is the time to budget for a replacement.
